LT1/700r4 power, daily driver

This was my daily driver fro several years.  It was a great candidate for the crusher, but I decided to save it.  It was originally a diesel 4 speed truck.  My wife wanted something to haul mulch and do yard work with, so I pulled it out of the "parts Scout line" and installed a half cab and set it to work.  Unfortunately, much of the load would fall out of the holes in the floor, so we set out to replace them and the project snowballed.  We sprayed it camo, and she didn't care for that idea, so new quarters and Hugger Orange were put on it.  Somewhere in the story, the SD33T/4 speed were yanked in favor of a 304/auto.  After some seemingly unresolvable issues, I swapped in the 1997 Trans Am LT1 V8 and 700r4 automatic.  It really made a great driver, and I get high teens for fuel mileage in town.  Even with the 3.73 gears, it's only at 2100rpm at 72mph on the interstate, too.  It has power windows, keyless entry, cruise control, LED lighting, remote start, etc.  Great daily driver!  Show quality it ain't, but it has won it's share of awards both locally and at the larger IH events.
