This Scout was literally built from the ground up. The customer came to us with a loose plan of what he wanted, but no Scout. We scrounged up a frame, sourced a body from Arizona, and started building. Powder coated the chassis and lots of other parts, had several loads of stuff chromed, the customer dropped an LS3 and a 4L70E off to us, and had seats from a 2014 Grand Cherokee shipped in from Detroit. We built the center console, rewired it all, added power windows and locks, keyless entry, alarm system, sound system with subwoofer in the back, rear view camera, GPS navigation, Vintage Air AC mounted IN the dash rather than beneath it, and so much more than we can write about here. This Scout does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and scoots through the quarter mile in the 13's. All the while, it looks like a bone stock Scout driving down the road. We did a cut and turn on the front axle to make it steer like few Scouts do, and stuffed 3.54 gears in the axles (Auburn limited slip out back) so it gets killer fuel mileage to boot. Seriously, one of the coolest Scouts I have seen, and we are blessed to be able to say we built it at Scoutco! It's a new truck, wrapped in a 1977 body. The show judges are also fond of it, as we were rewarded by bringing home the very first "IH Scout and Light Truck Build Off Championship with this one. It will be tough to beat, but we DO still have a few tricks up our sleeve...
